Crochet bridal shawl free pattern creates everlasting wedding memory

How extraordinary it would be to knit or crochet a bridal shawl for that special bride on her wedding day. This shawl pattern called "Spring Blooms" is crocheted and a free pattern is offered by Red Heart. It's just stunning on this happy bride, and would look equally beautiful in color for her bridesmaids at a chilly fall or spring wedding. A free pattern download is available. Follow the links below.

The flower motifs are crocheted in one long chain, then the shawl is picked up and crocheted from the flower chain with the larger hook. The crocheted flowers take the most time, according to crochet reviews, the shawl itself takes no time at all.

The crocheted flowers use a US D-3 (3.25mm) and the shawl requires a US F-5 (3.75mm) hook. The free shawl pattern requires about eight balls (100 yds per) of Size 3 crochet thread. Red Heart suggested their Aunt Lydia's Iced Bamboo for a little bling, but Paton's Spinrite Silk Bamboo could also easily provide the soft, silky drape you are looking for. Gauge is not important for this crochet shawl pattern, the flowers measure about 3.5 inches each. Iced Bamboo has been discontinued, but is still available in various online stores.

You'll also find numerous options for yarns with a little bling, if that's what you are looking for. Glitter sock yarn, Artyarns, and many more in "sport" or less tension range. Rosetti Polaris at yarn.com is a good substitution crochet and knitting yarn, comes in a ton of colors,
$8.50 for 191 yds per.

Just imagine how dramatic the Spring Blooms crochet shawl pattern would be in black.
