Fingerless mitts pattern is multilingual

There is no time like the present to start thinking of your Hanukkah and Christmas knit lists. The Camp Out fingerless mitts pattern by tante ehm is one knitnscribble used long ago for holiday gifts.

An easy free knitting pattern, you can almost finish in a one-night sitting. Pattern instructions are now available in eleven (11) different languages, and the English version accommodates Aran, worsted, OR sport yarn,  great for stash-busting, too. With variegated yarns, you can knit more than one pair and mix and match, if one is lost. I just love this fingerless mitts pattern, hope you will, too.

These mitts can be knit with a longer thumb or minimal one, your choice. The hand is knit flat in garter stitch. The pattern calls for a US7 (4.5mm) needle and 100 - 160 yds (91 - 146 m). (As mentioned before, the English version has options for multiple gauge yarns.)

I used Plymouth Yarns, "Gina," worsted wool, 109 yds per skein, $6.49 at WebsYou'll probably need two skeins, or less, depending on the finished length you want. Also, Noro's "Spring Garden" yarn, worsted, silk, kid mohair, and lamb's wool combo, 108 yds, $11.95 at Loveknitting is a great choice.

The knitting pattern is available in Czech, Hungarian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Japanese, Italian, and English.

"Camp Out" fingerless mitts pattern is available free on Ravelry.

More ideas: Pair these fingerless mitts knit with a picot edge with this picot-edged slouch hat, both free patterns here on Knitnscribble.

Thank you for reading and happy knitting, always!
