"Here kitty, kitty" - new pussy hat pattern

"Here kitty kitty" pussy hat pattern
Saturday's Women's March has been called the largest peaceful resistance demonstration of our lifetime. Indeed, women and men from around the world wore knit and crochet hats of all yarn colors and gauges, free patterns posted by the pussy hat project and even knitnscribble's own "Quick Pussy Hat" pattern.

Rumor has it that there will be another womens march in April 2017, so more yarn has been ordered and a new free pussy hat pattern, "Here kitty, kitty" has been written for this blog.
It can be worn with style and grace for, presumably, all four years! Women are in for the long haul in their fight for human rights, healthcare, social security, and equal pay for their sisters, daughters, and granddaughters. We can do this. There are more of us than them!!!

Here's my latest free pussy hat pattern, "Here kitty, kitty," which has a little more durability, pointier ears, and a more interesting stitch pattern, and can even be worn with a stylish, reassured flair!

I used Madelinetosh worsted, almost the entire skein, 200 yds. Gauge is 6 sts = one inch in plaited stitch pattern.

Cable CO 104 sts, using a US 6 circular needle. Turn and k1tbl to end of row. Join, marking beginning of round. Do not twist.

K2, P2 for 14 rounds.

Purl one round. Change to US 7 circular.

Two-round pattern -

Round 1: Insert right needle in back loop of second stitch on left needle, strand yarn counter-clockwise around needle and pull loop through, but do not remove stitch. Then knit first stitch on left needle and pull both stitches off to right needle. Repeat to end of round.

Round 2: Knit

Repeat these two rounds for 9 inches, ending with a plain knit round. Turn inside out and cast off, using a three-needle cast off method. Do it loosely, using a larger needle for third needle.

k1tbl = knit one through the back loop
CO = cast on

Keep the faith, keep on knitting and crocheting. Thank you to Maine and South Dakota knitters for these great photos. Don't let this resistance down, keep on marching!
