Cat bed knitting pattern benefits humane society

Charity knitting designer, Nicole Drouillard, is on a roll it seems, and has posted a new cat bed pattern with proceeds going to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan (HSSCM). You will remember her from knitnscribble's recent post "Canadian knitter surpasses goal for Flint Water Crisis." First water drop catnip toys for Flint, now a felted cat bed. Obviously a kitty cat lover, she tweeted yesterday about her latest campaign to raise money for the humane society.

Nicole will be donating $1.00 from every sale of the cat bed pattern to HSSCM.  The cat bed is knit with 10 ply worsted wool yarn on US 11 (8 mm) needles and then felted. If you've never felted before, knitting your kitty a bed will be a great way to learn.

Wet felting is so much fun. You can make so many useful things: baskets, slippers, cushions, etc. I have felted many handbags, and the most recent one is here:

and here's one of my very first felted handbags:

I have included this great wet felting video on how to felt.

The cat bed pattern "A bed your cat will probably hate" is $4.00 on Ravelry. Visit Nicole at her blog to find out about her next project! Think it's a lifelong one - called marriage!!! Congratulations, Nicole.

The water drop catnip toy knitting pattern is here. #FlintWaterCrisis
